The management of Kafanchan Municipal Authority has been commended for the quality of projects it is executing within the Municipal Area covering Zango Kataf, Jema’a and Kaura Local Government Areas.
The commendation was made on Wednesday by the Kaduna State House of Assembly Committee on Kafanchan Municipal Authority at the end of a two-day oversight function in Jema’a, Kaura, and Zango Kataf Local Government Areas.
The Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Nuhu Goroh Shadalafiya, said with the level of work on the various projects, they will put in their best to see that more funds are released to the Municipal Authority to ensure timely completion.
Shadalafiya also appealed to the Chairmen of the three Local Government Areas to comply by remitting their 40 percent funding required of them, and called for synergy between them and the Municipal Authority for seamless operations.
He expressed confidence that there will be no policy somersault when a new administration is sworn in on 29th May in Kaduna State, in view of the progress already recorded, and called for closer collaboration between the Committee and the Municipal Authority to guarantee success.
In her remarks, the Commissioner of Kafanchan Municipal Authority, Mrs. Phoebe Sukai Yayi, told the Committee that the projects were embarked upon after consultations with relevant stakeholders so that only priority needs can be addressed.
Mrs. Yayi noted that due diligence was followed in the award of contracts, and said there are engagements with communities to ensure that set objectives are achieved within the expected time frames so that more projects can be executed.
While assuring members of the Committee of closer ties, she appealed that more funds should be made available to the Municipal Authority so that work will not stop on the various sites where works have reached advanced stages.
In their separate remarks, the Chairmen of Jema’a, Kaura and Zango Kataf Local Government Areas, Yunana Markus Barde, Siman Mathias, and Francis Sani Zimbo, said the projects will impact positively on the people of the area where the projects are sited.
They assured that they will continue to remit the required funds for the execution of projects which include link roads in the Local Government Areas, street naming and house numbering, provision of solar-powered street lights, as well as a sports and events center in Kafanchan.
