The Senator-Elect for Kaduna South senatorial district, Barr. Sunday Marshall Katung has joined other well wishers to congratulate Muslims over the celebration of this year’s Eid-el Fitr.

Eid-el Fitr is the Muslim festival marking the end of the fast of Ramadan.

In a message he personally signed and made available to Salama News, the Senator-Elect prayed God that the sacrifices and prayers offered throughout the fasting period will restore and change the current economic woes the masses are facing.

He urged the Muslim community to continue to show love and compassion to the needy, even as they uphold the teachings on how to be more tolerant with their neighbours.

While also praying for a smooth transition of power from the current to the next administration, Barr. Marshall Katung appealed to those who are aggrieved with the outcome of the last elections to follow the right channel of reclaiming their mandate instead of attempting to truncate the nascent democracy in the country.

He however, used the occasion to call on those saddled with the responsibility of protecting lives and property of her people to change their strategies in fighting the enemies of peace in the land with the aim of ending the killing of innocent lives.
