Southern Kaduna Peoples in Diaspora, SOKAPDA, Europe, have described as absolutely too tragic, a situation where Kaduna state has become a killing field.
This is coming against the backdrop of recent massacre of seventeen people at Unguwan Wakili and ten others at Langson, all in Zangon Kataf Local Area of Kaduna state.
In a press statement jointly signed by the group’s President, Mr Casimir P. Biriyok and Secretary, Dr Janet Nale, they lamented how the once peaceful Kaduna state has turned a blood letting ground, and expressed the hope that somewhere within the political class, someone will take the security of lives seriously.
It observed that barely three months after the gruesome murder of 38 harmless villagers at Madamai and some other killings at Kamuru Ikulu, Abun and Malagum, SOKAPDA Europe finds it difficult to comprehend how human lives seem to have little or no value in Kaduna state.
While condemning the killing in its entirety the group also wondered why it was happening in the middle of elections.
SOKAPDA Europe also expressed worry that there seemed to be no empathy from the political leadership of the state as it has not heard of any statement indicating support aside from the curfew imposed.
It also observed that nobody has taken any responsibility for possible negligence or dereliction of duty and resigns to demonstrate that they hold human lives sacred.
SOKAPDA Europe then expressed sympathy to the families of the souls that were lost during the killings, and prayed God to grant them eternal rest.
