The Governorship candidate of the Labour Party, LP in Kaduna State, Mr Jonathan Asake has raised alarm over a planned press conference scheduled for Thursday 16th March, 2023 by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the state, allegely intended to smear his image.

Addressing Newsmen yesterday in Kafanchan, Mr Asake said the anticipated press conference by the Kaduna state PDP would among other things, announce that he was seen at Government House Kaduna holding a meeting with APC governorship candidate of the state, Senator Uba Sani and Governor Nasir El-Rufai.

He said it will also be announced that he was given the sum of 100 million naira after the meeting to enable him continue to destabilise the PDP.

Asake added that the PDP would also make attempts at the press conference to convince the electorate that a vote for Labour Party is a vote for APC.

Mr Jonathan Asake described all these as desperate lies aimed at descrediting his candidature by the PDP.

The Kaduna state Labour Party Governorship candidate who said he has never and will never sit with Senator Uba Sani and Governor Nasir El-Rufai for any kind of political deal, also said he has been at the forefront of attacking the evil policies and failures of the El-Rufai administration.

He challenged anyone, including Governor El-Rufai and Senator Uba Sani to come up with evidence that they ever met not to talk of collecting money from any of them.

Asake said his aim of contesting is to exercise his constitutional right to win election and provide quality and exemplary leadership for the people of Kaduna state as captured in his manifesto and the Labour Party, and called on the PDP to leave him alone.
