The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has suspended the town hall meetings earlier scheduled to commence today, Tuesday in Kaduna South Senatorial District.

A Statement personally singed and issued to Salama News on Monday by the Governorship Candidate, Isa Mohammed Ashiru, said the suspension of the meetings is a mark of respect to those killed and injured during the recent attack that left about forty people dead in Malagum 1 and Sokwong communities in Kagoro chiefdom, Kaura Local government area of Kaduna state.

The statement also advised all the PDP party offices in Kaduna South Senatorial District to fly their flags at half-mast as a mark of respect to those that have been affected by the incident.

Ashiru also described the renewed attacks on communities as disheartening and reprehensible, even as he condemned it and called on the Government and Security Agencies to be more proactive in taming the attacks instead of re-actional in handling the issues of security.

He however, prayed God to grant quick recovery to the injured and comfort to those who lost their properties and loved ones.
